That's the blower control module. It's down under the glove compartment, mounted in
the inner corner of the heater plenum. There are two external modules down there,
and the one you want is closer to the center of the car, and has a plastic tube
going to it from some other part of the heater, and another short tube fastened to
it that looks like it needs another tube connected to it, but there isn't one.
Also, there is a 3 or 4 wire electrical connector. Two 8 mm (I think) hex screws
hold it to the plenum. Empty the glove compartment and let it hang all the way
down.....then you can barely see the module amidst all the wiring and hoses.
They are pretty expensive to replace with new....about $150 or so discounted.
Joseph Van Oss on the list rebuilds them. He might have one he will swap you for
less than that.
George and the Lowrider...this module is one of hundreds of parts I need to
stockpile if I'm planning on running Gen 1 SHOs for the next 10-15
years.......egads!!!!
(then there's the insurance problem.....a new completely restored Gen 1 SHO might
have $10k worth of blood, sweat, paint, and parts......and it's worth $3K to the
insurance company......aarrgghhh!!)
