Friends don't let friends drive on ordinary tires.  (I remember a technician working in a Goodyear store years ago- I was asking him about their various tires.  He had good things to say about some of them.  When I asked him about another of their tires he said "it's just a tire".  That summed it up to me- there are good tires and then there are tires that are just tites.)

There's always TireRack.  You can browse their site, read their reviews, read the comments from their customers, select tires that you will have faith in, and have them shipped to you.  Then just find someone local to mount them for you.
