[Shotimes] SHO vs. T-Bird bolt patterns

You know, I've had the wheels off of lots of cars, done brakes on lots
of cars, and I just can't see how drilling a new hole pattern in the
ROTORS helps at all. The studs are not attached to the rotors, rather
the rotors typically held on to the hub by the wheel being on and
properly torqued.
Am I missing something here? If I drill a 5x4.5" hole pattern in my
existing 5x4.25" rotors, the rotors won't fit onto the studs, right?
God, I must be having a bad day :^(

Well you don't redrill them in the same holes! Sheesh.
You put a new pattern in between the original one. Then swap the studs
to the new pattern. If the rotor is beefy enough, you shouldn't have a
strength issue. In theory, you could adopt just about any pattern.
