When you say you don't feel anything until you turn the wheel slightly one way or
the other, that makes me think of bad wheel bearings....the ones that press into the
knuckle.  There could be some runout in the tires or wheels, or rotors, that doesn't
show up due to gyroscopic force holding things straight, until you turn the wheel.

Jack up one side at a time, and spin the tire with the engine, remembering that the
speedo will show 1/2 the actual wheel speed.  So, 35 mph on the speedo will be a 70
mph tire speed.  Then turn the wheel slightly while holding that speed, and see what
happens.
