I applied battery power to the fuel pump, signal return, self test
input, and self test output, but not all at the same time. I recalled
from doing it at a previous time that I needed to connect two of the
pins to battery power. I thought I recalled which ones were necessary,
but in the end I connected the signal return and fuel pump pins to the
battery. After doing this and hearing the noises from the fan area and
fuel rail, I disconnected the battery power (probably on for about 10
seconds). After this, I correctly connected the self test input and
signal return to the battery, but that didnt make the test work. So I
then connected the self test input and self test output to battery power
thinking that I confused the self test output and signal return on the
diagram.

Things to note:

*Between last night and just now the idle seems to have fixed itself.

*The kicking out when full throttle is quickly applied still occurs, but
seems to have diminished VERY SLIGHTLY

*The cooling fan runs continuously now.

My best guess is that somehow the injectors were running when the fuel
pump was powered (maybe the seals blew?), which sent some gas into the
cylinders without there being spark. As for the fan, I have no clue.

Mike

Exactly which pin(s) of the self test connector did you apply battery
power to?

Might help in determining what got fried.
