Yep, BTDT, although it's supposed to change.

Hint: when you get married, the IRS doesn't know that you are married. if
your wife delays changing her SSN for the new name, the IRS can't possibly
figure out that you are married, when in fact you are still filing as Single
under your old names.

This is a Rumor, I can't say for sure that you can do this for a few years
after you get married and get away with it.....although I will admit that
tax savings did let me buy a used 911 for cash!!

No man, it's the other way around.  You get a tax penalty when you're
married.  Just ask Metros!  :)
