Yes, I figured everything in that I could come up with. I got it on an excellent
loan...2.9% for 4 years. Payments were 622 a month. (Down payment was 300 bucks!)
I paid it off after just under two years when I refinanced my house. The bank
understood when I said I didn't want to pay it off, but the loan criteria required
that 'short term' loans be paid off.
I averaged fuel prices, and figured what is probably a lower average mpg than actual
for fuel use. I've always had lots of cars, so my insurance is lower than most, due
to the multiple car discount.
I probably have omitted a few things, but I have been generous with the variables,
so the overall cost should be pretty close. With this many miles, any change won't
have too much effect. For example, were I to spend $9K to fix it, like the
original estimate, the overall cost would go from 21 to 25 cents per mile. I'm
estimating the cost to be $5K, so that would take it to about 23 cents or so.
