Don't worry, this is not an inflammatory post.  Rather, an invitation.  When
I was 18 (20 years ago), I volunteered for military service and served in
the U.S. Army as a 71R (Public Affairs, Broadcast Journalist).  During my 3
year enlistment, I was stationed at the HQ of the American Forces Network
Europe in Frankfurt, Germany.  It was an amazing experience and when the
Internet was born, I set up an unofficial website for AFN.  It was the first
of its kind and over the years has generated a pretty decent following of
active duty and retired military and civilian personnel, and European
civilians.

If anyone feels like communicating in a thoughtful way with an international
audience concerning the war, the troops, etc., you are invited to visit the
