[Shotimes] played with a WRX yesterday

I was on my way to work in my 97 SHO and turned onto a 3-lane service road.  
This is a new area so there aren't any businesses or roads entering the 
service road.  I come to a traffic light and within 1/4 mile after the 
traffic light is an entrance ramp.  I'm in the right lane and there is a 
small pickup in the center lane.  I see a car pull up in the left lane and 
recognize from the front end that it is a WRX.  My usual mode is to take off 
quickly from the light and get ahead of the other traffic so I can get in the 
left lane and enter the freeway.  After noticing the WRX I'm thinking this 
could be interesting.  When the light changed they took off as fast as I did 
and pulled on me a little.  Then I was surprised to see that I started 
pulling on the WRX a little.  As we approach the entrance ramp I am pulling 
on the WRX a little but have no hope of getting in front of them so I let off 
and pull in behind them.  All the while I expected the WRX to be long gone.  
Either they weren't trying hard or maybe they had an automatic.  Whatever, it 
was still interesting.

(Disclaimer:  We didn't blow any speed limits in this little exercise, just 
the appropriate speed for entering the freeway.)
