Sorry, that first bit came across as heavy handed didn't it, have to
remember to pause and re-read before I hit send. Spent a couple hours
getting the wireless connection sorted out, and guess whose email I opened
first?
However, the point was, is, and remains to be- if you ask the bank to help,
the worst thing they will say is NO. I doubt it in the case of the receiving
bank, because there may be a new auto loan in their future. The best case is
they will say" Yeah, we can do that."
Perhaps if the buyers bank has extended him a loan, they will be willing to
help as well.
I appreciate the reading material on LIBOR, if you note, the rate is quoted
in the WSJ, and as quoted is based on the averages of 5 domestic banks. I
was making (probably a poor) reference to the interest that banks charge one
another on daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly loans. Long before there was a
eurodollar, the LIBOR dictated these rates (or if they didn't dictate them
they surely influenced them) here in the US and across the world. However, I
am glad to have the new definition so that I don't make a poor reference on
that subject again.
I know: check clearance period " is to make sure sufficient funds are
available etc etc", but don't tell me banks don't tack on an extra couple of
days. That's like saying AOL double-bills people " by mistake" on the last
week of the year.
I am obviously a more generalized conversation type of person when it comes
to subjects. I will type something and assume you know everything I've
already taken into account, but haven't spoken out loud (or written down),
whereas I'm getting the feeling you are a more detail oriented person who
likes everything defined. Vive la difference!
On a final note, I feel sufficiently put in my place for being so
shortsighted as to believing there was a solution to the question at hand.
Obviously, my previous post had no redeeming value whatsoever. All who read
this are official witnesses to that fact.
We could send snappy emails back and forth ad nauseum, but it wouldn't
really be of interest to people looking for info on SHOs, so this is my last
word on it.
