Hmmmmmmm....how about this for a standard - the part of the engine that
points toward the front of the car is called the front!!!
You guys want to make it all confusing. In a FWD car the front of the
engine points towards the "left" or the "right". In a RWD car the front of
the engine points towards the "front". In a rear-engine car the front of
the engine points towards the "rear". That's not confusing?!?!?!?
With my definition, the front of the engine always points towards the front
of the car, no matter where the engine is or how it's positioned.
If there never were any RWD cars would you still be calling the "right" side
of the engine the "front"?
