They did that once......called it the ZR1. Didn't sell, but then the $30K
premium over a regular Vette may have had something to do with it!

an OHV Chevy V8.....at least until the current group of Corvette enthusiasts
dies off, or sales totally fall in the toilet. Chevy has considered other
powerplant options each time they redesign the car, but the Corvette focus
groups like it just the way it is.
I feel that they should branch out with a more modern model, maybe in
addition to the current car, but I guess they view themselves as the "Harley
Davidson" of the car world.

That corporate culture is probably so complicated and screwed-up that you
could never fix it. However if I was in charge I would be inclined to put
the Northstar motor in the Corvette! Or at least take the technology from
the Northstar and put it on top of the Chevy V8.
