Maybe Not!!

Thanks, I'll do that and get back to you and the list. Had a hell of a
time with that crank (damper??) bolt!! I assume this is the bolt you're
talking about? I had a bad feeling all along I didn't get that *ucker
tight enough.

Did you torque the damper properly? A medium frequency thudding from
the
engine at idle speed up to about 2K or so could be the timing sprocket
loose,
bouncing back and forth on the crank, eating away the crank and the
woodruff
key. That's "crankshaft cancer". Usually it takes several thousand
miles to
start being audible, but if you just did the 60K, you might have thought
you
torqued the damper but didn't. That is one of the few weak points in
the
engine... that damper/sprocket/key area.

Jack it up, take off the right front wheel, remove the fender liner, and
take a
dowel or other long pointed device (if you don't have a stethoscope) and
stick
it into the center of the damper bolt while the engine is idling. The
bolt is
concave, so the stick or whatever will stay in the center, even with it
running, as long as you apply pressure to it. Put your ear to the end,
and
listen for the sound through the stick. If it is the sprocket, you will
hear
the noise in the stick at the same time you hear it ambiently, like you
would
just standing there. See the FAQ for how to fix this problem, or tell
me you
have it, and I'll tell you.
