My take on it is that because the Marauder is a heavy car, it needs at least 
350HP, and gearing or tuning to allow it to have good pull at lower rpm's.  
Today you can buy slightly smaller 4-door cars with 240-260 hp that perform 
well because of their significantly lighter weight.

To complete this equation, the car should sell for $35k.  The modified 
Marauders that KB sells are very interesting, but the market will be limited 
for $50k.
