It is ready for a tune up if you haven't already done it.  The plugs are ready to
change..they are good for 100K at the most.  It could need wires...do you notice any
missing or stubling under hard acceleration?  What does the temp gauge say?  Does
the engine warm up properly?  The gauge pointer should go to somewhere around the A
or just above the L when it is properly warmed up and cruising at the speed limit. 
The Oxygen sensors can also cause mileage to drop over time.  They can last up to
200K miles or so, but also can go around 130 to 150K.  The easiest way to tell they
are gone, if they don't leave a code, and a CE light, is to see the city mileage
drop WAY down, from the high teens to 20 or so, down to 12 or 13, even with
conservative driving habits.  

The 60K or 100K (ATX) tuneups address most of these problems.  The O2 sensors are
sort of optional, but if you check out all these things, you most likely will find
the problem.
