[Shotimes] Ticking/oil leak

Car does not sound like it's out of time. In fact it's been running
really good. This is not to brag but I'm a rock and roll drummer as
well, so I may hear things beyond what is normal! This ticking is
driving me nuts though! Let me ask this - If it's a shim out of spec,
where is the best place to listen (thru stethoscope) for this. I tried
the valve cover bolts and valve covers but still didn't feel like I had
a good read on where the sound was coming from.
The crank bolt is definitely TQ'd, So what does leave to check? If it
is deeper in the valves or bearings, how do you know what to do?? If a
bearing is bad is there a way to know for sure and could a bad bearing
or something be causing this symptom?

Most likely it's not crank cancer. That would effect the car throughout
the
entire rpm range. And the car would sound like it's out of time.
Usually
it'll only happen if someone took the crank bolt off and never
re-torqued it
to it's proper torque.
