<<the real kick in the nuts is the fact that the insurance company
didn't send
an adjuster out immediately to the place where the car was towed,
assuming
that her insurance woudl send an adjuster. So after hearing from us
that no
adjuster had been out to see the car for 1 week, (that's 1 week @ $20
per
day storage, plus the $78 towing bill) they immediately demanded that we
pay
the storage, and towing bill, adn have the car towed to the residence.
Since
the residence is in a very suburban part of town, where cars are not
allowed
to be parked on teh street, the car ended up at my farm, which was an
extra
$92 to have it towed from the towing place, to my house.

they claimed that they woudl reimburse us for those bills, but later
sent a
letter stating that the insurance claim was under investigation adn
until
the driver (who ran a bloody red light in broad daylight) was found to
be at
fault, they weren't goign to offer for the car. also, the say that if
the
other driver is found not to be at fault (even though she received
traffic
citations for the stunt) then we will be responsible for paying all
fees,
including the towing and storage...>>

John:

That's the biggest crock I've ever heard, and I thought I had heard
it all in my years in the insurance business. Get in touch with your
state insurance department tomorrow. Early. If this isn't a "bad faith
practice," I've never seen one. Go get them. That's ridiculous.
