What??
Apart from the GS430 being a 4-door sedan, NONE of those other cars were
probably on the radar screen for the T-Bird when it was being conceived.
The new T-Bird is just like the original.....it's a "cruiser" GT-type
vehicle. Just look at the primary commercial that Ford used. It was the
"exotic" car trying to race the new T-Bird at the light, then the guy wimps
out....but gets the girl!!
All of the cars you mention are "sports" type vehicles (excepting the
GS430). The T-Bird was never meant to play in this market. It's sorta like
the Harley Davidson of the two-seat market!!! (and no, I don't consider this
to be a compliment!!).

Ford needs to consider what the competition in the $40K+ roadster market
has. Boxter, Audi TT, 330i or M3 convertable, Z-4 & GS-430 come to mind. Or
