[Shotimes] rod bearings

I think I will go the plastigage route - if for nothing more than the
knowledge I'll get out of it. Cracks me up to see all the "rod bearing"
replies - obviously I'm not alone on this one and that makes me feel
good about my car. One day I'll hand this car down to one of my son's -
who'll appreciate, and hate it, (and all of you of course!) the same way
I do!! :-)

I've built a lot of engines for standard American cars. If the crank
was
good we just put in standard bearings and didn't bother to check
clearances.
If I was doing my SHO I think I would check the clearances just so I
would
know what they were. If the crank looked questionable I would check
clearances for sure.
