[Shotimes] Convention and I-90

No offense personally, guys, but I'm getting offended (seriously).
Let's kill the "MYTH" right now that drag racing kills 5-speed SHO trannies.
Let's also kill the "MYTH" that a smoky burnout will kill one, also.
Sorry, ain't true. If that was the case, I would have been through 10-15-20
transmissions in the 10 years and 182K miles I had my '89. The diff pins
didn't blow until about 195K with the next owner. After 195K, I feel that it
has proven itself as a very durable tranny.
The SHO 5-speed and diff are very durable with respect to a performance car.
Sure there are some flawed ones (like my first one in the '95 that again
blew after a rebuild), but my "new" (used '91) 5-speed has been through a
LOT of dragstrip runs and street smokies and is still fine.
I know you older guys know this, but the newer SHO members need to
understand the reality of the situation.
I'm sorry, but I believe that a SHO that blows a tranny after 150K miles
does not have a "problem", nor is there a "manufacturing/engineering
defect".
For those of you old enough to remember, blowing up a 4-speed musclecar
trans was par for the course for street/strip cars.

If someone wants to buy the gas, I'll bring my truck and trailer, so that
someone
can get a ride home after they spread their car all over the dragstrip!!
