Yes, you absolutely get what you pay for!!!!
FWIW, I have a similar C-H compressor that easily puts out the 90 psi for
air tools. The compressor is the cheapest part of the situation, GOOD air
tools make all the difference in the world!
I have a C-H impact and an air ratchet. These are the rock-bottom tools
(price & quality-wise) to get, IMHO. Do NOT get cheap Harbor Freight. I am
considering Chicago Pneumatic or Snap-On for my next impact. These are in
the $80-$110 range. Don't consider anything cheaper than the C-H impact at
$30 or so.
Now, when it comes to tools that need a continuous air supply, like a paint
sprayer or the die grinder you want.....get the BEST you can find......and
spend the money to get it. IMHO, the Sears at $60-75 is too cheap in this
category. Look at Chicago Pneumatic or Rockwell. It's not a matter of how
much you use it, but how it does the job. The extra few dollars will seem
trivial when it takes you twice as long to do the grinding with a cheap
grinder.
In impact wrenches, the difference in quality is amazing! Even at 90 psi,
the better tools are far more capable than cheaper ones.

Subject: [Shotimes] OT-Air Tool question
I recently bought a Sears Craftsman air compressor (6hp/30 gallon/upright)
and am now looking at air tools.
I want to get a die grinder (1/4 collet, 22K-25K RPM) and see a wide range
of prices. Harbor Freight carries
Campbell Hausfeld and Central Pneumatic in the $20-25 range and
Ingersoll-Rand for a bit more. The Sears
Craftsman brands I've seen are in the $60-75 range. My main job for the
grinder is to do a light port and polish
on some heads for my '68 VW.
I know you "get what you pay for" but I doubt I'll be using the grinder
enough to justify the Sears price. Are any
of you familiar with the Campbell Hausfeld or Central Pneumatic brands? Any
info would be greatly appreciated.
TIA,
Norman
