What's up all you SHO lovers? Just joined the list, so work with me if I do
something wrong. I am in N.W. Georgia and am the current owner of a 93 black
on black 5-speed with 130,000 miles. I picked up this car with a top end
noise and am not real sure what to do. I talked to a guy at Ford Performance
Specialists, he said it sounded like a timing chain tensioner, replaced the
tensioner, but I am going to do a valve lash adjustment while the v/c are
off (gaskets are $78 for v/c, Fel-Pro @ Auto Zone). I have a Ford Service
Manual, but the checking with the feeler gauge is not very detailed. I also
don't have the special tools yet, so I am not ready to do the replacement of
the shims right now, but I can see how far off they are, which ones need
replaced. Thanks for all your help.
