Yes, the good days for Prodigy before they started charging
extra for the use of the BB.
Also, before rambling on about Prodigy, Our group has always
considered the Gen's to be thus:
Gen 1 1989-1991 (and by default all Tauri built from day one
through 1991.)
Gen II 1992 through 1995
Gen III 1996 through 1999
Gen IV 2000 through today.
Seems funny that Ford now runs our Gen I and II into Gen I,
when there was more of a body change in 1992, than there was
in 2000. By that rule, then there should just be two
Generations with the break between '95 and '96.
But WE are right.....right?
I started SHO Fast SEdan News in 1991 right after buying my
'89 and not finding anything about the car on Prodigy. By
the time they killed Prodigy with fees, SFSN was the oldest
continuous running thread on the site. Quite a feat!
Ron Porter kept SFSN running for a year or two after I
jumped ship for SHOtimes and got a local ISP.
Can't remember the exact date of that change though, maybe
Ron will remember.
Anyone remember that at a couple of conventions we had a
display for internet based groups? I built a hinged board
to display information about internet groups (Bill Staib at
the time kind of considered them competition for the
Registry, so he never got directly involved, but to his
credit, he didn't try to prevent the growth of the groups,
just didn't get involved, and he allowed the displays at his
convention!). ON that board I had a map of the United
States that people could put a push pin where they lived.
Made for quite a neat display, maybe we should do that
again, starting with the CA convention?
