ANY chrome wheel will begin to peel. The Gen 3 guys are whining that their
chrome wheels are peeling after 5-6 years of year-round use, but that is
actually very good life from a chrome wheel. Hell, the '89 lace wheels and
the '99 5-spoke wheels, both of which have the machined surface with a
clearcoat-type of coating started peeling within 2 years.....sooner when you
had the wheel weights pulled off.

Brian Moore, who bought my black '99, bought SVT-type 17" chrome wheels last
year, and in a year they are already peeling big time. He lives in
Louisville, where the weather is pretty mild.

I don't understand the "leaking" part with chrome wheels, as the chrome
usually does not extend into the bead area.

If you want nice, shiny chrome or polished wheels, they are not going to
have the durability of painted wheels.

I bought a set from a lister 15 months ago; no peeling and no air leaking.
Do they have a propensity to do this?
