Did he try an STi, which is really the direct competitor for the Evo?

A lot of it is subjective, as in tests the STi puts up better numbers, but
they usually pick the Evo as a car that they would rather live with on a
daily basis.

I like the WRX/Si styling better, plus the STi puts a hurt of anywhere from
0.5 to 0.9 seconds in the 1/4 on the Evo in the tests I've seen.

Since we are talking about WRX's and Evo's.  A friend of mine bought a WRX
and just 2 months after his purchase he decided it wasn't what he expected
and traded it in on an Evo.  He is much happier now.  I know a few of his
complaints were about the mushy clutch, sloppy shifter and his 95 Talon
handled better.
