Go to the site:

www.tracquest.com

They are at Mid-Ohio September 1-2, and Watkins Glen on October 25-26.

Personal opinion, but beyond initial cost, 911s are not expensive to work on
for a very good track car. Yeah, the initial purchase cost is more, but they
are always worth more when it's time to sell. Older 911s can be had for well
under $10K, though.

I think Terri H. was trying to line up a tracquest weekend at Mid-Ohio in
Sept. Never heard the final dates though. I would love to run the 89 there
though. I think it was a 2 day deal. Would have to bring a big box of
rotors/pads/fluid and spare track wheels/tires :)

After spending last weekend with EMRA I wish I had hooked up with them
sooner. The on-track time we got was killer (sat out a lot of it, trying to
save the tires, got more than we wanted!) plus it's fun to run all weekend,
then have the lap timers on at the end. I plan to run limerock, pocono, and
watkins glen with them at the end of this year. Cool group of guys to, not
a lot of ego like you typically see.

I still say from scratch, you can build a SHO track car cheaper than just
about anything. You could take $10k and build a nice track car (including
the cost of the car) especially if you do all the work yourself. I'm still
under about $8k on my 89 now, which includes the cost of the car (and
doesn't count junk I pulled off it and sold, ie the stock motor in pieces
for $1000). A gen2 track car would be cool, as you wouldn't run into the
sheetmetal problems in the rear the gen1 cars have with wide wheels/tires.
The biggest expense on the SHO is making power cheap. Otherwise, handling
and braking and such, you can do that pretty cheap. Something RWD and a
little more balanced would always be nice, but you'll probably pay more for
it.
