Mark,
Last time Ken and I were at Putnam Park playing with my '89,
a couple of the regulars in expensive stuff asked why we
would choose to try to race or drive a FWD car?
I smiled and said it made all the right noises and moves,
and suited me. I guess if he had to ask, he just wouldn't
get it, but I tried to explain that anything can be fun if
your frame of mind is right. I wasn't the slowest thing on
the track that day, but close to it, but I had a fraction of
the money invested, and drove my car to and from the track
instead of trailering. My grin was as wide as anyone's that
day.
Plus the starter (regular track guy) gave us a complement on
how fast the car was, so when someone that can be as jaded
as the guy that stands by the flag stand can be even a
little impressed with my SHO, I feel pretty good.
