The Tire Rack spec for the AVS DB 2 is

And it shows 9.1"/8.1" for the section and tread (using a 7" spec rim) for
the 225/55/16. Could be that with a narrower rim, it doesn't lay the tread
down.

I got a tread width of 7 5/8" on my 225/55-16 Yoko AVS DB tires.  I didn't 
measure the curved edges, which might have gotten my measurement up to about

7 7/8" if I had.
