They wouldn't seem to make any sense for the rest of us with full-weight
SHOs (Even the misnamed "lightweight" models), but since you have already
stripped out a lot, you will most likely feel a difference right off.

You could also save a set to use on special occasions, much like nitrous!

yep, I've always heard the Hoosier R3S03's were the ultimate in grip/light
weight, but didn't realize they were that light.  There is an interesting
tech article about them on hoosiers site, saying basically they don't hold
up to brake shock loading than a heavier tire does, and can be easier to
flat spot if you aren't carefull.  Says for non-ABS cars to really try to
get  the feel for them before you go out and flog 'em.

If I could find some light 8" rims (17 lb or less) and switch to hoosiers I
could knock 40 lbs off the car, that's unsprung and 20 of that is driveline
rotational :)  Plus step up 20 mm in width (they spec 245/45's for a 8"
rim).  40 lbs in wheels/tires is huge!

Only downside of them is they don't last long.  Sorta like nitrous for a
road course :)
