Mike....

Give it the crank cancer test.  Pull the top third of the timing belt cover, and
rock the engine back and forth at the crank, watching for slop in the cam sprockets.
 If there is, the knock is the crank timing sprocket bouncing back and forth on the
woodruff key.

This happens if the crank bolt isn't torqued properly after a 60K servvice.
