Hi SHO friends:
I am very happy and a little sad to report that my Emerald green 1995 atx has a new owner as of last Friday 08-08-2003. The gentleman lives near Oxford as I do, and thankfully seems to appreciate the SHO and also how well I have taken car of it. In a way, I kind of miss the SHO, but I did have it for 6 years and learned a bunch. Like many of us, my ownership experience was bolstered by having purchased an extended warranty. The SHO is easily the most expensive car that I ever had to keep up, but as we know once the bugs are taken car of, they settle down to make a really nice ride for those who can appreciate them.
As an incentive for those thinking they want to sell their SHO, mine was in what I would deem as excellent (not mint) shape for a 95 with extensive documentation.
We always talk about finding the right buyer for a car, and I feel that I did. My goal was to not settle for less than 4k, and I met that goal and got a little xtra to boot.
I did sweeten the pot a bit by throwing in my collection of SHO maint parts that I would no longer need to include a new t-stat, extra slicer with new tire, new factory plugs, old wires, and my SHO Registry Goody book 2.
I will probably lurk a little while longer, then disengage from the list.
A few comments before I go:
Thanks to those of you that helped make the 99 convetion in Atlanta fun for my wife to be(at the time) and I.
To Neno: Glad to hear that you did indeed get a SHO with the money that some of us sent you. Please enjoy it for a long time.
To Ron Porter:
I don't think we ever met, but we have chatted a few time over the e mail. When I read some of your post's, that great scene from Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze comes to mind where he tells his new collegues, " I want you to be nice until it is time to not be nice, and when that time to not be nice comes, do what you have to do."
Many thanks to Don Mallinson for all of his and his families efforts at the events and SHOclub.
And to all the other folks that I probably should be saying something to but can't remember, thank you. I wish all of you the best and a long and happy/safe life.
