I believe that Ford was using ATF in the MTXs, but I don't recall seeing
anything about what they really used. Whatever, the cars seemed to shift OK
from the factory.

What I got out of this is the way BMW approached selection of transmission
fluid for their cars. One point being that from the factory they use an
ATF fluid. Ford could have done the same for our cars when the synchro
design change was made but didn't.
Anyone know if the 5-speed Getrag in the Lincoln LS uses ATF fluid? Just
curious.
