To a certain extent, I agree with Jonathan. Blower cars are in a different
league with a whole different set of issues. For just bolt-on mods, I feel
that people spend more than what is needed for the return that they get.

Overboard on their SHO's?  I guess you have never ridden in a 465hp at the
wheels, 3.0 V6 family sedan.  That's about 570hp at the crank.  I think
bolting the stock electronics onto a aftermarket maf is probably way messed
up.

Understandable Carl, but I'll revert back to my original thought...  I'm
making 300+ HP with a 73mm and a 65mm TB on my Stang.  I also can't see how
an 80mm would be able to sample the air more accurately than any other good
quality MAF.  Actually the larger ones tend to have driveability problems
because the air flowing past the sample tube at low RPM isn't moving fast
enough.  More volume = less air speed.  I'm not saying that if I put an 80mm
on my Stang I would gain little bit, but I feel that it wouldn't be anything
substantial.  So why deal with these the problems on an SHO if you can put a
73mm or 77mm on it, bolt on your stock sensor and go about your way?  I get
the feeling some people go over board with their SHOs.  I posted a message
on a Mustang list about the 80mm MAF on a SHO and I got a lot of chuckles.
These cars are expensive enough without having to send your oversized MAF to
some guy to have it calibrated correctly.  Just my 2 cents.
