[Shotimes] What causes power loss?

The timing belt can stretch a bit, and if the timing is slowed down by crank 
cancer then you will lose major power.  Otherwise I think the only problem 
could be problems with some of the sensors feeding improper fuel mixtures.  
Unless something like this is wrong, the older cars seem to run as good as 
when they were much newer.
