[Shotimes] Blend Door Question

Jacob,

In front of and above the passenger's toes is a black plastic housing called
the heater box.  I will describe it from right to left, as the air flows
through it from the cowl.  On the right side is the blower, a squirrel-cage
fan that pushes air through the system.  Next is the AC evaporator.  After
that is the blend door.  Behind the blend door is the heater core.  The
blend door either opens (to let incoming air pass over the heater) or closes
(to keep incoming air cool).  After that, air passes from the heater box
into the center plenum, where a system of vacuum-operated dampers controls
airflow to the defroster, dash vents, or floor.

The blend-door MOTOR is mounted on top of the heater box, where the blend
door pivots.  It's a black box about the size of a box of cigarettes.  Its
job is to accept open/shut commands from the EATC head unit, and to report
blend-door position back to EATC.  If the blend-door motor fails, you have
to pull the dash to replace it.

Run the EATC self-test (procedure is in Helms and probably on the FAQ).
That test exercises the blend-door motor and BDM failure is one of the
diagnostic codes that can result from the test.  Let us know.

Where exactly is the blend door located. I was in the dash the other day
and I couldn't find it. I have a '94 in a local JY and I would love to
get my A/C working. These 100+ days with my black leather interior is
getting on my nerves.
