"Parts is parts", at least sort of.
You need to get THE correct spark plugs so the wiring boots will fit
properly. You should also consider changing the plug wires, and if you do
it is advised that you get the correct Motorcraft wires. Shop around
because prices vary by a large amount.
While you have the end of the engine stripped, you should replace the front
oil seal also. It is fairly easy to do.
I would consider the cam sensor optional, but that's up to you.
Check to see what water pump you can get before you disassemble everything.
Some suppliers give you the entire pump, some give you only the front part.
It is advisable to replace the o-ring between the rear pump housing and the
block, but that ring is hard to find if it isn't included in the new water
pump.
I replaced my parts the last time with generic parts. No problems after 20k
miles.
There are a LOT of water hoses to replace. Most of the small ones you can
do with bulk hose. I have been advised to just plug the hoses that go
between the engine and the throttle body.
When you reassemble, make sure you properly torque the harmonic balancer
bolt. This is very important on this particular engine design.
