Thought I would post a note to thank all of you for your assistance with the
minor issues I've finally waded thru in getting my 94 MTX in tip top
shape...a few of you deserve special gratitude for really sticking with me
on some of these issues and you know who you are....and my soemtimes dumb
questions.
Woes were:
-bad/gas-"who knows what issue": I learned alot about the SHO engine,
learned the EEC tests, poked around and fiddled/cleaned without messing
anything up with your help. Woe was a bad injector.
-Lexol seat issue. God only knows becaus eI dont...must be a chemical agent
reastion between past used conditioners and Lexol..still baffles me....end
result is Lexol is great stuff, just not on this SHO. I HATE sticky leather
and am going to get seat covers...The folks in Hawaii will make some that
match the interior color and ARENT sticky !!!
-Radiator woe: installed SHO Shop 2-core...cools fine altho guage moves
around a bit more than most cars I've had. replaced sensor and
thermostat....found out the stock ATX coolant reservoir bottle WILL re-fit
with slight modifications. Done deal, happy, cool SHO. Also found out
removing all tha air from the system is like trying to find Bin Laden....not
so easy.
-For anyone interested, there is a great SHO mechanic here in NJ called
Brunswick Auto care in North Brunswick, NJ...VERY nice/honest guys, SHO
drivers. a tad expensive but then again the service, concern and quality
rate up there as the best I've yet experienced. Guys even loaned me a car
without me asking for one....Mark the mechanic who worked on my car was a
true Southern gentleman and clearly took pride in my car's care.. these guys
resolved the injector issue after I ran out of time to resolve myself.
-Best thing is I am now done with the "tidbits" and have a car I absolutely
love. Can honestly say after having a 2000 Acura 3.2TL, I would take the SHO
over it anyday...more fun, more raw balls and altho the torque steer on the
SHO can be ..well..YEEHAA!!...at times....I just have a blast with this car.
I am now thinking another SHO....the next to be a "serious" SHO with serious
engine power upgrades and a Quaffe diff.
the SHO is a wondrous car that can be had for almost nothing and for A TON
less than you would spend on a used "ho-hum" Beemer or the like...SHO can be
performance enhanced to scream bloody SHO murder.
Last question.....anyone out there experience a supercharged (or other
modded SHO with significant HP/torque increase) SHO with a Quaffe ? I am
tying to get an idea how the car handles with this kind of power and the
torgue steer issue dealt with.
Gracias....
