I have been without email for a few days, so I missed some of the replies to
my post. A couple people misunderstood what I meant by deleting the "lower
air box". No, I didn't unbolt the part directly below the filter and tape
the panel to the lid...I meant the portion of the airbox in the fender, the
portion I consider the "lower air box". I can try different combinations of
stock/stock or stock/nonstock WRT the MAF and Hypertech chip, and see what
happens. Before the installation of the MAF, the chip showed a 3-6hp
increase over stock on the dyno above 3000rpm. The valve lash is definitely
on my list of things to do. It is encouraging to hear someone having a
decent gain from doing it, Steve. While I am there, I will check the
crank/camshaft alignment and sprocket as some suggested. I am glad to hear
that there may be hope for my SHO after all! Thanks for those who gave
input. BTW, can someone post a list of sensors that affect A/F, timing and
such?
