[Shotimes] AC question

Havent had a computer all weekend.  I did jump the clutch wire attached to 
the dryer but the clutch would not engage.  I assumed a paperclip would 
work.  The whole clutch is supposed to spin right?? right now it doesnt spin 
at all, just sits there.  It looks like the belt is just sliding by the 
clutch wheel (unless the inside of it is spinning.  I also used the broom 
handle :o)  This is starting to sound like an electrical nightmare.
