Rod shifter replacement bushing been done? See SHONUT
Check the rods, I had one that was getting stiff and it broke a few days
later. Nothing a welder can fix in a heartbeat

Subject: [Shotimes] Stiff MTX
Hello Gentlemen,
I'm experiencing the first stages of a stiff shift in my 93 MTX. I had
Doug up at PP do a major service 1.5 years ago @ 103K miles. He did a
60/100K service and additionally I had him replace the clutch. While in
there he recommended new syncro gears both 1-2 and 3-4. I said fine,
make it sweet.
Well 1.5 years and 25K miles have gone by and I've recently (just the
last few days) felt resistance to shifting into first or second and
third or fourth when the car is warmed up and sitting still. If I'm
rolling just a little she seems to slip in ok but not as smooth as in
the past. Not flaming Doug, but I really didn't expect to have any
problems in the shifting for quite a while.
I changed the fluid this evening with Castrol DextronIII/Merkon. No
strange smells, nothing on the magnetic fill plug except a silver/grey
residue, very thin. So I'm thinking nothing's coming apart in there or
I'd find pieces.
Considering the cost to have someone even take a look at it I was hoping
one or more of you more experienced SHOtimers could offer some
suggestions.
Please respond directly to me @ cgates@medousa.com, thanks, Chris
