The satellite! Pros are speed . Id recommend a land line backup as one of
the downsides is weather interruptions such as local thunderstorms. Another
down is the initial cost. My start up was about 700 dollars for the
receiver dish and installation. Dont know if that has changed. Of course the
ISDN drawbacks are availability and they are just not that fast in my
experience . Download speeds were as i remember only about 4-7 KB/sec while
my cable it is not unusual to get about40-50 KB/sec download speeds with a
good estimate avg of 25-30 KB. I just didnt notice a huge increase in
download speed with ISDN compared with my 56K modem. BTW Ive got a ISDN
modem Ill sell cheap. . I called about it but never got any satisfaction
from Sprint who was the provider. Hope this helps. Jim

Given that you've had both ISDN and satellite, which of those two choices
would you recommend (which was the original question that started this
thread)?

I ve had DSL,ISDN Cable and Satellite. From my experience cable is the
cheapest, fastest and most reliable. Jim

I thought about satellite, could not get DSL, but finally got cable. The
cable seems to work OK and I think it is faster than DSL. I haven't had any
problems with the cable or the hardware. I think cable may be more widely
available than DSL due to the distance limitation for DSL.
