Hey all,
Mike Kopstain from SHOcago here. I'm just writing you all this email to
update you on the BBQ/ tech meeting we are having out here on the 6th.
Be here (address below) 2:30 pm, Saturday, September 6th and bring one item
with you... Food, beer, drinks, buns, chairs, anything. Just one item is
fine. I need someone with a canvas style tent. If you have one of these,
please drop me an email so that I can cross that off the list. Otherwise I
will just rent one. This is turning out to be a pretty sizable event. With a
little over 30 cars for sure, it's not quite a SHO convention, but still a
great end of summer blast.
In addition to the BBQ, we will be having a tech meet in which the upper end
of a 93' SHO will be removed. Everyone on hand will get a chance to adjust a
valve and learn a little more about the mysterious cars we all drive. In
attendance will be Eric Wieland's (Formerly Don Donelson's) 245whp naturally
aspirated SHO, Mike Barbari's supercharged 97' SHO, and Mike Dunwoody's
(formerly owned by IPT's Shawn Paisley) super suspension 92' complete with an
operating differential.
We hope to see a lot of the list members, forum members, and even friends and
family are more than welcome. If you can make it and plan on attending,
please respond to this email with your full name, year and color of your car,
and what you plan on bringing for the BBQ. Again, any food or drink item is
fine.
As a neat treat, everyone in attendence will receive a folder of about 20
pictures and a detailed writeup by none other than my self on the mystery
surrounding the history (no pun intended) of the SHO motor. Some of these
pictures date back to 1985 and show the V6 intake in it's earliest stages. At
one point the intake was designed to be a four stage design with a dyno chart
showing 4 torque peaks! Imagine having near peak power whenever you need it!
Guys, the more the merrier. Seriously. We (SHOcago) are hosting this meet,
but anyone from anywere is invited to attend. Hope to see you all there!
