I just joined this list because I got a decent '94 SHO with 125K easy miles,
owned since 10K by a Ford dealer, nice and clean (the car, I mean). AND,
ready for the 60K interval refresh! So this whole thread is super timely for me,
both because of the discussion on checking the valves/shims intelligently, as
well as good advice on everything to check and change while under the hood
for the refresh.
By some unearned measure of luck, it turns out I'm just down the road from
ProTech Automotive in Gaithersburg MD, who seem to have a good rep in the SHO
community. So it looks like A) I can go someplace other than the dealer, and
B) I can get it done right, if there is ever any difference between those
options.
It's great to have access to such an active and obviously knowledgeable user
community. If the debate about taillight LEDs is any indication I'll get some
chuckles along with all the useful info.
Cheers,
