I don't know about the storage and labor rates, but I do know that the keys for those cars are very expensive. A lady where I work has a 99 Bug and her purse was stolen. The key includes the remote entry buttons and does this shock and awe thingy that flips the key out. It cost her 300 and change to get the new key and have it programed. So, the keys are expensive.
