Actually, the effect of junk foods is less in your younger years....unless
you get grossly overweight, or have very serious diet deficiencies. Life
gives you 30 good years, after that, you are on your own.
Actually, I'm quite up on this. Started eating well, and doing vitamins at
age 26. Over the last few years, my wife only eats 100% organic, with a
limited range of foods due to her medical issues. I also pretty much stick
to that at home, also.
Like other things in life....everything in moderation. I would say the
bigger dietary issue for younger folks (besides too many calories) is in not
getting enough of certain food types that they ignore, such as fruits,
veggies, fiber, drinking enough water, etc. Taking at least a multiple
vitamin when you are younger is a good idea, and try to get a variety of
food groups. Ian's "recipe" can be fine, as long as that isn't the only
thing he eats 3x a day.

It's an indirect effect!
The more unhealthy foods you eat during your younger years the more problems
(potentially life-threatening) occur down the road. I'm not saying that if
you eat right you'll live to see 70 instead of 60. I'm just saying there's
a much better chance of it.
I know this must be hard to "digest", since you're so close to your elderly
years.
Oh, and to quote what a wise man once said: "No f***in' smiley faces here"
;^) (wait, there's one!).
