<< You need to see the 88 Iroc at the Houston autocross. Nearly 400k, original
owner. Car looks almost new, inside and out, recovered seats of course. It
has a new tricked out motor putting out over 400hp. He is running it through
the stock 5 sp and stock rear. He does not drag race it, just road and
autocross.
Very true, my friend has a really nice '86 Iroc in bright red that still
looks new, he's the original owner and I'd buy the car from him if he ever
sold it(looks to nice to be a white trash car).
That is both good and bad. You have to deal with the image. Of course it
gets the image because it is one of a few cars made in America that last
long enough and are cheap enough to repair for white trash to afford.
Yes, definately the white trash car, also the mexicans out here are doing
some garish things to them now, big chrome fender flares and chrome mudflaps
along with the 1.5" chrome exhaust tips(Kragen specials I'm sure) and the
ever popular 5" wide wheel/tire combo that stick out from the car. Just more
reasons not to have one(unless it's nice enough to set you apart from the
crowd). Kind of like where civics are with asians and I've seen alot of
stupid looking little white homies trying to show off their mis
matched/dented/big wheeled/80's civic si's. Is it just me or weren't those
disposable cars even when they came out? In another 10 years you're going to
see hyundai accents being "pimped out" with the big wheel and spoiler
treatment! "80hp baby! This aint your mom's hyundai!" -Steve "old mans car"
Bowen
Also the 80's Irocs are one of the best handling of all the f body. Third
gens are still doing well at Nationals against the LT1, LS1 and the Mustang
Cobras in stock class.
