One thing with a Quaife to keep in mind, is it only affects front grip
when you are on the gas. So saying it helps out with understeer would only
be true in a power on corner situation. Just running the car through a
corner at part throttle, or going around a skidpad, or latebraking into a
corner off power, the quaife has little or no input into how much the car
will understeer or oversteer. This is still left up to chassis, tires,
spring rates, sway bars, etc.
If you choose the "slow in/fast out" corner approach though, where you
are on the power before and through the apex, yes it helps reduce understeer
by planting the front end under power better.
