Depends on what you use.  There are different kinds of resins you can use.
A lot of the underbody components for new cars are powder coated.  Most of
your suspension parts like control arms and springs are powder coated.
Manufacturers have a variety of choices depending on the application.  For
the most part they can choose between; Acrylic, Epoxy, Nylon, Vinyl,
Polyester TGIC, and Polyurethane.  The list goes on depending on the
application.  Whether or not these options are available to an individual at
a reasonable price is a whole other story.
