[Shotimes] Fog lights

Has anyone tried to rewire their fog lights to work independtly of the
headlight.  I would love to be able ot have them on without the headlights.
I have a friend with a Neon that was able to do this so I'm assuming it's
not to tough.  My guess is that there is a wire that goes from the headlamp
switch that supplies 12 volts to tell the fog lamp switch it's ok to turn
on.  If this is true supplying the switch with the necessary 12 volts on a
constant basis would work?  Any experiences or knowledge?
