Ian already responded....but to clarify...that big long ugly thing on Turbo
Coupes is the antilock computer/master cylinder/accumulator.  It makes TBird
brakes more similar to brakes on big airplanes than cars, since it generates
its own pressure with a little motor (the accumulator).  You're right..it is
expensive, about $1400.  And it's designed very poorly....just pushing the
front pistons into the calipers, like you would to replace the front
pads....that will blow it out.  Dealers would void the warranty on it after you
took it in for leaking after you replaced your own pads.....BTDT, but I had a
good parts manager at my dealer, and he fixed it for me.....said he'd not do it
a second time!!

SHOs don't have that kind of antilock, thank goodness.  I don't think any other
car from Ford had that design.  I wouldn't wish it on anyone!!
